The budget agreement announced on July 13, 2021 represents a historic investment in our communities that will help millions of people, no matter their status, get the infrastructure, healthcare, housing and jobs they deserve to thrive. All of this, while also providing millions of undocumented people who have stood with us in this pandemic a pathway to citizenship.

This would not have happened if it wasn't for the amazing advocacy of community organizations all over the country who called, texted and marched to demand our needs were included in this budget. Much more is needed to support unemployed workers, protect our environment and provide support for families. We need those who have the most to pay their fair share. We will be in the streets over the summer and into the fall to make sure the resources we need are won and that our communities can get the dignity and respect they deserve.
